How to configure ARUBA Wireless Access Point with master and slave (Aruba 303)

ARUBA WIRELESS AP CONFIGURATION (Basic)

Aruba 303
Aruba's portfolio of 802.11ax and 802.11ac access points address today's most challenging Wi-Fi use cases. Flexible deployment options allow the APs to be deployed in controller-managed, controllerless (Instant)

Step 1 – Accessing the Interface
Connect the access point to the DC power source. It will take 3 to 5 minutes to show the SSID. Once the SSID is shown, connect to that SSID.
open up the browser and access setmeup.arubanetworks.com.
It will instantly open the credential page (default credential)
Username: admin
Password:  admin

Once entered to the console, we can start the configuration.

Step 2 – Configuring the Virtual Controller (VC)
Once we enter to the configuration section, we need to configure the VIRTUAL CONTROLLER which is an inbuilt controller in all ARUBA access points. This makes the ARUBA is even odder.

Once the IP assigned for virtual controller, device will restart and new console IP will be https://10.1.97.50:4343

·       Step 3 - Setting up SSID for end-users

Once the virtual controller is configured, we need to setup the network/SSID for the access points.
for that, we need to click
NEW in network

once clicked, the configuration wizard will pop up

Select IP assignment as Network Assigned to get IP address from DHCP server for client devices.

Next level is set up the security for the created SSID
once done, click next

and click FINISH

·       Step 4 - Merging rest of Access Points to Existing network

Merging could be done by connecting the rest of the access point to the same network switch where the first access point is connected.
once connected, the virtual controller detects the second access point through the broadcast signals. Once detected by the virtual controller, the access point name will display in the ACCESS POINT section in the virtual controller.

Once the access point appears, click the access point and click
edit.

and put a name for slave access point and IP address and gateway details.

do this step for all other slave access points in order to make it as a single network.
